Jenna Jansen – Siobhan Isabella Reid Scholarship Recipient – 2025

Hello, my name is Jenna Jansen. I am so grateful to have been chosen to receive the Siobhan Isabella Reid Scholarship. I will be using these funds to assist my tuition fees to pay for my last year of university. In spring 2026, I will graduate as a teacher! As a teacher, I plan to work in a classroom for students with learning disabilities. I have always loved to learn but struggled to read. Last year in March 2024, I was tested for a learning disability and my results concluded that I am dyslexic. I want to use my diagnosis as an encouragement to my future students to show that it is possible to turn struggles into strengths. I currently work with students with learning disabilities and ADHD as a tutor which has been the most rewarding job. I am elated to see where my education journey takes me once I graduate in the spring.
