– An update from the family shared two years after receiving the Mandin Family Award. –
“I was so happy to receive the Mandin Award. I was able to do the Renert Bright Minds program. My Math tutor was Angela. We both like Pokemon and video games. She even made me flash cards to work on at home. It was really hard sometimes. A few times I got lots of pages of math wrong. I got a bit frustrated, but Angela worked with me on it. She helped a lot. Now I really feel more confident at math. My Literacy tutor was Elena. She helped me organise my writing. I think I write clearer now. My Dad says I never put my pen down these days. I often get notebooks as presents now. I like to organise my thoughts on paper. I’m still working on making my writing neater. But my teachers at school say it’s pretty good and they can read it better now. I’m proud of that.”

My son Donnchadh was a recipient of the Mandin Award scholarship in 2023. Donnchadh had been struggling in school for a number of years prior, so receiving the Mandin Award that year was a blessing. I was able to continue to give Donnchadh the tutoring support he desperately needed. We’re extremely grateful for that support. More importantly, he is happy with his progress and enjoys attending school now. We wanted to let you know things are going well and how grateful we are for the support we received, as it helped out a great deal.
