Director

Heather has worked in the Human Services field for 25 years. Through her profession she has held various roles beginning her career in group care and in school settings with children with behavioral and educational challenges. For the last 20 years she has worked at McMan Youth, Family and Community Services Association in leadership roles supervising teams of staff and in program development working with families in crisis in urban and rural settings. Currently she works with a Quality Assurance team supporting programs to provide best practice services to individuals served.

Heather is a mother to an active tween that was diagnosed in third grade with Moderate/Severe Specific Learning Disability in Reading, Writing and Mathematics and ADHD combined type. She advocates for better programming, understanding and acceptance of unique learners within the school setting.

Between work and school, she and her son enjoy hiking the beautiful terrains in Alberta, camping, and getting out and active in the community. Heather volunteers on the board of her son’s athletic club and enjoys being part of his activities and passions.
