Burke, Kathryn
Kathryn Burke is the Executive Director of the Learning Disabilities Association of Alberta, and author of the bestselling book, An Accidental Advocate. Her book describes her family’s journey in advocating for her son with learning disabilities, ADHD and other health issues. Kathryn holds a Master’s Degree in Sociology from the University of Calgary, and is the founder of LDExperience.ca, a site that attracts visitors from all over the world. She has held executive positions in hospital and health care management, and has worked for several years as a consultant in health and human services.
Conference Contribution: Kathryn will be moderating the panel discussion on the State of Special Education Reform. She is also serving as the Conference Committee Chairperson.
